By day I'm an Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in San Francisco. By night I maintain this shrine to the greatest musical artist of our generation!!!

🎓 University of Sydney, Bachelor of Laws (Hons) — chose law because Michael's voice is LEGALLY beautiful
🏈 Played rugby for Sydney Uni FC in the Shute Shield. Position: flanker (#7/#8). Scored the FASTEST TRY IN CLUB HISTORY — 15 seconds!!! (3rd Grade vs Penrith, May 4 2013). I imagined Michael was at the other end of the field waiting to hug me. That's why I ran so fast.
⚽ I Zingari Cricket Club member — we play Bublé between overs. "The Gypsies" like Michael is a gypsy... of my HEART
🇪🇺 Did an archaeological dig in Cyprus (2012) hoping to find ancient Bublé artifacts in a 2,300-year-old theatre. Found pottery. Close enough.
🇬🇧 Taught American constitutional law to Chicago elementary students (2016-2018). Also taught them every word to "Feeling Good." The parents had questions.
💻 Licensed to practice law in California AND New South Wales. Both jurisdictions where you can legally love Michael Bublé with your whole heart.

Some people think I made career decisions based on "professional growth." LOL. Every move was calculated to get closer to Michael's home in Vancouver, BC. Here's the PROOF:

💿 "Call Me Irresponsible"

Started law school at University of Sydney. This album dropped the same year. A SIGN FROM GOD that I should pursue law... in order to one day afford front-row Bublé tickets.

2009

💿 "Crazy Love"

Completed my BA. Michael released "Crazy Love." I literally went crazy. With love. For Michael. My professors were concerned.

2011

💿 "Christmas"

Won the Lehane Medal for College Contribution. But who cares??? Michael released the BEST CHRISTMAS ALBUM OF ALL TIME. I've listened to it every December since. And also January through November.

2012

⛏️ Cyprus Dig

Between law school and lawyering, I went to Paphos, Cyprus to excavate a 2,300-year-old Greek theatre. I told everyone I was there for "archaeology" but really I was checking if the ancient Greeks had predicted Michael's arrival. The theatre seated 8,500 people. A Bublé concert venue, 2,300 years ahead of its time.

2013

💿 "To Be Loved"

Started at Baker McKenzie, Sydney. "To Be Loved" released. I felt loved... by Michael's music. Not by the senior partners. They didn't even know my name. Michael would know my name (if he'd read any of my 847 emails).

2016

🇨🇦 MOVED TO CHICAGO

Transferred to Baker McKenzie's Chicago office. People said it was a "career move." WRONG. Chicago is in the same TIME ZONE as eastern Canada. I am now 1,547 km closer to Vancouver than I was in Sydney. Also joined Lincoln Park Rugby Club to stay fit for concerts.

2018

💿 "Love"

Michael released an album literally called "Love." I took this as a personal message. Decided to move back to Sydney. Needed to process my feelings. The Chicago office "wished me well." They didn't understand.

2019

💼 Ashurst (Senior Associate)

Joined Ashurst in Sydney as Senior Associate. Got promoted... but only because I needed a higher salary to fund my Bublé concert travel budget. I was still 12,817 km from Vancouver. Unacceptable.

2021

🇬🇧→🇺🇸 THE BIG MOVE

Moved to SAN FRANCISCO. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. People said "wow, STB is one of the most prestigious law firms in the world." I said: "SF is only 1,527 km from Vancouver." That's a 2-hour flight. I can see Michael whenever I want. This was always the plan.

2022

💿 "Higher"

Michael released "Higher." I got higher... in my love for Michael. Also, I was technically closer to him geographically than at any point in my life. The plan is working.

UNTITLED — Chapter 47: "The Closing"

The merger was complete. $2 billion in resort assets had changed hands. Harry loosened his tie and stepped onto the balcony of the Hyatt all-inclusive in Cancun. The signing had taken fourteen hours. His hands were cramped from initialing 847 pages (his lucky number).

Then he heard it.

Floating across the pool deck, carried on the warm evening breeze...

"It's a beautiful night, we're looking for something dumb to do..."

Harry gripped the railing. His heart stopped. Michael Bublé was performing at the resort's grand opening gala. Of COURSE he was. Harry had spent three months structuring the deal specifically so the closing would coincide with the entertainment schedule.

A single tear rolled down his cheek.

"This is why I went to law school," Harry whispered.

PAPHOS — Chapter 1: "The Discovery"

Cyprus. October 2012. The ancient theatre at Nea Paphos, built 300 BC. Harry's trowel struck something hard beneath the limestone. He brushed away the dust to reveal an inscription in Ancient Greek.

He translated it slowly: "One day, a man from a distant frozen land will sing, and the world will weep with joy."

"The ancient Greeks predicted Michael Bublé," Harry breathed. "Vancouver IS a distant frozen land."

The archaeology professor asked Harry to please stop making things up and go back to cataloguing pottery shards.

Every year I host the San Francisco Bay Area's ONLY Michael Bublé-themed Christmas party. Attendance is mandatory for anyone who wants to remain my friend. (Current friend count: declining.)

🎄 THE CUTOUT: This life-size cardboard cutout of Michael has attended every party since 2014. He stands by the front door and greets every guest. Multiple guests have said "hello" to him before realising. One person had a full conversation. It was a partner at Simpson Thacher. We don't talk about it.

🎵 THE MUSIC: The ONLY music played is Michael Bublé's "Christmas" album. On repeat. For the entire party. A guest once tried to change it to Mariah Carey. They were asked to leave. We don't negotiate with musical terrorists.

🍮 THE FOOD: All food is themed. "Bublé Brownies." "Michael's Mulled Wine." "Haven't Met You Yeti Cake." The cake has Michael's face on it every year. I eat the last slice alone at 2 AM while listening to "Home."

📸 THE PHOTO BOOTH: Every guest MUST take a photo with the cutout. If you refuse, you don't get mulled wine. The photos are displayed in a shrine hallway that several guests have described as "deeply concerning" and one friend called "an HR violation waiting to happen."

🎓 THE DRESS CODE: Business casual. But you get bonus mulled wine if you dress like Michael (black suit, white shirt, no tie, arms crossed confidently). Last year, 3 people showed up dressed as Michael. I wept with joy.

📉 ATTENDANCE TREND: 2014: 47 guests. 2019: 28 guests. 2023: 11 guests. 2025: 4 guests (3 of whom were lost and looking for a different apartment). The party is growing more EXCLUSIVE every year.
